Jungkook"I get the feeling she doesn't like me like that."
He rubbed the back of his neck. Was that a blush forming on his skin? Well hot damn, you never thought you'd see the day that someone like Jungkook was blushing, but here you were.
Jungkook"I don't know anymore. But, maybe we should study now."
You"Study? You mean philosophy?"
Jungkook"Sure, get a head start on the textbook and try to outpace everyone in the class. What do you say?"
You"I'd say you're crazy, this early?"
You whacked his shoulder, him grunting, but his face was laced with amusement at the motion.
You"Shush Jeon, you know I meant it's too early in the semester to study, even if we're trying to outpace everyone in the class. You're crazy."
Jungkook"I've been called a lot of things. *, *head, dimwat, moron... gotta say, crazy's a new one, L/n."
You"If your goal is to tease me relentlessly, you're doing a good job."
You opened your door, preparing to slip inside. Then, you realized this is a perfect opportunity to learn more about him, and you froze. When he saw your hesitation, his lips spread into a smirk. You pointed a finger at him in what you hoped was a threatening manner.
You"Half an hour. That's all you get."
He jumped up and down, giddiness glittering in his glowing eyes. Jungkook darted inside before even you, you facepalming before following, closing and locking the wood behind you.
Jungkook"I'm amazed you agreed, to be honest."
Jungkook hummed, plopping down on your couch.
You went over to him, sitting next to him albeit cautiously, leaving some room. You were surprised when he respected that.
Despite yourself, your eyes scanned over the back of his neck, and you swore you saw the peek of a tattoo sitting there. He turned toward you before you could observe it more.
You"Where do you want to start? We already went over chapter 1, want to take a look at that, or do you want to read ahead?"
Jungkook"Maybe I can ask you why you're taking philosophy. Isn't that a philosophical question?"
You"I don't think that's what philosophy is about. And dude, I'm taking it as a GE just like everyone else. No one genuinely wants to major in one of the hardest majors out there."
Jungkook"What if I'm majoring in it?"
You"Then you should get a better study partner."
His eyes crinkled at your joke, you secretly proud of yourself for being able to make someone other than you and Hana laugh.
You"Seriously though, what do you want to start with?"
Jungkook"How about this: we'll read one paragraph in chapter 2, then we'll pause and ask each other a question. Then, we'll repeat the process. One paragraph, one question to each other."
The question slipped out before you could stop it, Jungkook tilting his head.
"So we can get to know each other, duh. What, you don't want to know anything about me? I'm borderline dating your best friend who totally ditched me over a fake illness you set up. I'm not dumb, I've bailed my friends out of situations before too. I recognize that tone of voice anywhere, but it's nothing to be ashamed of. Hana really doesn't like me, then? Is this her way of rejecting me?"
You"Is that why you're talking to me? To find out if your crush likes you back?"
Jungkook"Obviously. Why else would I talk to you?"
You"Because you want to be friends?"
Jungkook"I mean, I guess that's a bonus, but like 90% of this is to know how Hana feels about me. 8% is for help with philosophy. 1% is because I want to be friends."
The fury that boiled inside you almost overtook you. Almost.
You"Get out. Just so you know, Hana won't be dating you anytime soon."
Jungkook"Yeah I gathered that much, and neither will you if you keep up this attitude, princess."
Without a second thought, you hopped up, opening the door for him.
"I'll tell you this once and only once. Get out right now without a word, if you hesitate even two seconds, I'm calling the police and telling them you're harassing me, which by the way - you are. I'm giving you ten seconds."

When he didn't budge, you stared, no emotion in your eyes.
Jungkook got the hint at that, jumping up and sprinting to the door.
He left, you slamming the thing shut behind him. A groan left your lips, your hands running through your hair and pulling on your locks. This whole time you thought Jungkook wasn't too bad. Maybe he wasn't the clichΓ© * type, but it turned out he was only using you to get to Hana, a possibility you didn't want to be true.
But little did you know, this story was far from over yet...
